My son Braxton has been following me to the hunting lease for quite some time now. Every once in awhile I am able to sneak away from the house and hunt by myself, only to return to Braxton and his sisters looks of abandonment by their father the outdoorsman. While some fathers are eager to get their children to harvest a big buck very early in life, I choose to educate them in what GOD has created for us in the Great Outdoors first. I teach them how to be good stewards of the lands and waters. Braxton has been an excellent student. Although sometimes his eagerness to harvest a big buck was overwhelming, he did hold off last year to take a managment buck off one of our ranches. He has asked questions and listened intently to myself and others when learning about the outdoors. I do not think that I would have had the patience to have a father that was in the Outdoor Industry that would not let me shoot a buck that others would pay good money for. Braxton has had that patience for over 4 years. This opening weekend, Braxton received his reward and executed the necessary skills to take a very nice 9 point buck. Great Job Son !
